Bag Hunger Southern Maryland
Join us as we partner with Feed St. Mary's, Operation Earnie's Plate, and Solomons Mission Center on Saturday, September 23 as we bring the community together to fight food insecurity. With just 2 hours of volunteering you can package 2,000 meals, make a difference in a fun way, and change a life in real need.
All food prepared will be donated to food pantries and homeless shelters throughout Southern Maryland. These non-profit organizations will distribute the food within the community directly to individuals and families in need.
Volunteer work includes filling the bags with dry ingredients, sealing the bags, and packaging the meals into boxes for distribution.
No heavy lifting required. All ages can participate, and students/scouts can receive service hours for their time. Even young children can assist by drawing pictures on boxes and placing stickers on bags.
