Giving Machine Volunteer Opportunity

Ballston Quarter MallOur stake has been asked to provide volunteers for the Light the World Giving Machines located in the Ballston Quarter Mall in Arlington during the month of December. This initiative provides a wonderful opportunity for us to partner with charities, blessing the lives of the poor and needy both locally and globally. The Stake requests your help in filling one of five 2-hour shifts on Saturday, December 23 (10am - 8pm). We need two volunteers per shift, and names can be submitted using the Signup Genius link below. If all time slots have been filled already, you are welcome to sign up two people from your ward for a backup slot

- The machines are on level M1 between Macy's and the Santa display. (Ballston Quarter, 4238 Wilson Blvd, Arlington) Garage parking is $1 for 3 hours. After you park, pay at a kiosk that is located at each entrance to the mall. You don't need to put the ticket in your car or use it to exit the garage.
- All the items that you need (updated instructions, keys to open the machines, buttons to give to donors, lanyards, scarves, hats, cleaning supplies, plus empty drawers to store your things) are in the kiosk drawers nearest the machines (as you head toward Macy's).
- If you need to open the machines, note that it takes some effort to close them. (No worries if you'd rather not attempt to open and close.) And please don't turn the machines off at the end of your shift.
- You may keep the lanyard, scarf, and/or hat that you choose to wear. No need to return them to the drawers.
