Three days before Passover: Jesus teaches in the temple
and the Mount of Olives ("Olivet Discourses"), sharing
truths, warning against hypocrisy, and prophesying future
events like The Second Coming: Joseph Smith Matthew,
Mark 13; Luke 21:5-38, and parables of the Ten Virgins:
Matthew 25:1-13, The Talents: Matthew 25:14-30, The
Sheep and Goats: Matthew 25:31-46 or the story of The
Widow's Mite: Mark 12:38-44; Luke 21:1-4. Jesus has a deep
knowledge and love of the scriptures. For those who listen,
prophecies, hundreds of years old, become powerful and
new. The word of God doesn't have an expiration date. No
matter our era, we can find peace in the powerful
parallels between the scriptures and our lives.
The priests plotted to kill Jesus. Judas Iscariot agrees to
turn Jesus over in exchange for 30 silver coins.
Why do you think he chose to teach these,
and how can they benefit you today?
Mark 12:1-44; Alma 12:9-11
