Two days before Passover: There are no records of what
Jesus did on the Wednesday of Holy Week. It is expected
that they rested after two exhausting days in Jerusalem.
Tensions are reaching a boiling point, and religious
leaders want to avoid causing an uproar in the city
during the festival. Still, Jesus knows He'll be crucified on
Passover, taking His place as the sacrificial lamb and
God's provided rescue for humankind.
In Bethany, a woman anoints Jesus with precious oil,
prefiguring His burial. This act of devotion contrasts with
the growing tensions and plots against Him.
"She did what she could. She poured perfume on my
body beforehand to prepare for my burial." - Neal A
Maxwell, referring to Mark 14:8
How can we show our devotion and love
for Jesus Christ through our actions,
even in simple ways?
Matthew 26:6-13; Mark 14:3-9
