Overnight at Mt LeConte Shelter

Monday, March 17 - Meet at the chapel at 0430 to depart. Depart at 0445 for Alum Cave Trailhead. The parking lot at the trailhead fills up quickly in the early morning, so we need to leave early and on time. Our backcountry permit allows for 8 people and, therefore, has space for two more. Please let me know if you would like to join the party or have questions. We will hike 3,110 vertical feet and 5.9 miles up Alum Cave Trail to the top of Mt LeConte on Monday. Click here for a route of the hike. The boys need to bring a lunch and trail snacks. Dinner will be provided Monday.

Tuesday, March 18 - After wakeup, we will eat breakfast, which will be provided. We will hike back down 5.9 miles to the trailhead and purchase lunch on the drive home. Please bring money for lunch. We will meet back at the church in the afternoon between 1500 and 1700. The boys will text you with our ETA on the drive home.
