The past few weeks have brought difficult and troubling events, including the recent attack on an LDS church in Michigan. The natural man may feel shaken, fearful, or even angry in the face of such events. Yet the Lord invites us to turn to Him and to let His Spirit replace fear with peace and anger with charity. Every person touched by such tragedies, including victims, families, and even perpetrators, is a beloved child of God of infinite worth (D&C 18:10). As the Book of Mormon reminds us, His redeeming love extends to all—even to the “vilest of sinners” (Mosiah 28:4). Because He has already borne all sin and all suffering, He can heal all broken hearts and bring lasting peace. The world needs disciples of Christ who can share His light. As we share the hope of the gospel with kindness and compassion, we become a force for good in this world. This weekend, we are blessed with the opportunity to hear the Lord’s voice through His servants at general conference. We invite you to listen with open hearts and let the Spirit teach you how to be a light to the world. May you find comfort, courage, and renewed strength in the Savior as we come together to be His light in the world.
